Observations: The flight was over a wide front and lines would switch in accordance with the variability of the wind direction making for challenging counting. The movement of birds was steady throughout the day and really did not let up until almost sundown. It was an impressive day all around for most species with yet another single day high established for TVs breaking yesterdays record. I think everyone has been pleasantly surprised with the continued strong push of Broad-wings recently and today was no exception in that trend. Other highlights of the day included the first Rough-legged Hawk of the season along with 3 more Swainsons Hawks and 4 Golden Eagles. Several non-raptor highlights included 6 Sandhill Cranes, 2 Snow Geese and a hummingbird. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Calvin Brennan ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) SMRR- Lake Erie Metropark information may be found at: http://www.smrr.net/ The primary site used by Southeastern Michigan Raptor Research (SMRR) is the Boat Launch at Lake Erie Metropark located approximately 20 miles south of Detroit, Michigan.
