Weather: A nice surprise for the morning as the winds started out from the NE and moderate. This intitially resulted in a really good flight BUT it wasn't to be for long as the winds switched BACK to the SE (yet again!!!). Temp to 21 so a little cooler. Some cloud in the early afternoon but mostly blue sky. Observations: Well...today the Broadwings finally moved...just too bad the wind didn't cooperate more :) Had a total of 1052 Broadwings. Some really decent Northern Harrier numbers today with 59. Also 3 excellent Merlins...one which roosted at the end of the day right in front of the counters...nice view in the scopes! 1000's and 1000's of Blue Jays moving through today...basically a continuous stream all day long. Of interest was the White-Tailed Deer buck (6-point) that almost walked into the count area before realizing we were there and bounded off into a nearby bush! Lots of Monarchs today as well. Predictions: Rain for Monday....need I say more? :) ======================================================================== Report submitted by Dave Brown ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) Hawk Cliff Hawkwatch information may be found at: http://www.ezlink.on.ca/~thebrowns/HawkCliff/index.htm Hawk Cliff Hawkwatch: Oldest Hawkwatch in Ontario - since 1931 - located just east of Port Stanley on the cliff overlooking Lake Erie [EMAIL PROTECTED] Visit http://www.ofo.ca/ontbirdsguide.htm for information on leaving and joining the list.
