Winds were moderate east-southeast becoming strong out of the east in the afternoon. Observations: The flight generally was very, very slow with a modest push of Broad-wings in the mid afternoon spurred on by the strong easterlies. Noteworthy was five adult Bald Eagles that were all in the same binocular view, none of which seemed to be migrating but simply soaring and gliding on the considerable wind. Also, a Peregrine Falcon was spotted hanging in the breeze all the while dining on some prey item. Blue Jays and Monarchs were seen moving en masse today, both numbering in the thousands and in the case of the jays, tens of thousands. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Calvin Brennan ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) SMRR- Lake Erie Metropark information may be found at: http://www.smrr.net/ The primary site used by Southeastern Michigan Raptor Research (SMRR) is the Boat Launch at Lake Erie Metropark located approximately 20 miles south of Detroit, Michigan.
