Today, I went to St. Albert Lagoon and the Chesterville Lagoon. Hoping to see a Whimbrel, but instead I saw about 3 Greater Yellowlegs, a Wilson's Phalarope, Canvasbacks, 6 Blue-winged Tealsa beautiful Northern Harrier soaring right about me. I wasn't satisfied with my findings at St. Albert, so I decided to go to the Chesterville Lagoon. My findings there were much more rewarding than St. Albert. I spotted one American Avocet (twice - an extraordinary bird, absolutely beautiful). About 20 Greater Yellowlegs, 2 Red Knots, many killdeer, more blue-winged teals, gadwalls, mallards, black ducks. It was wonderful!
Happy Birding,
