As of 3:30 pm today (Sunday), the American Avocet previously reported was
seen on the shore of Embayment B at Peninsula B at the Leslie Street Spit
(Tommy Thompson Park).

A red-throated loon was observed close to shore east of the isthmus portion
of the Spit, roughly in line with the contol booth.

Avocet Directions as per Naish McHugh. The Leslie Street Spit is at the base
of Leslie Street in Toronto.
Walk or Take the van (Sat., Sun. and Mon.) to the bridge. Cross the
bridge and walk to the 2nd trail on the right side of the paved road, near
the Portable Toilet. Take this trail through the clearing that has one
picnic table in it, continue straight on through the trees, then take the
left branch of the sandy trail to the westerly side, which comes out at the
water's edge. This is the westerly side of Peninsula 'C'. Look along the
shoreline to the left
across to Pen. 'B'. To access Pen. 'B' take the next trail from the paved
road, on the right hand side.Take the right angle bend to the right when you
can see the Cormorant nesting area and proceed to the water's edge. This is
the easterly side of Pen. 'B'. Look straight across, past the two, near,
small islands, along the shoreline over to Pen.'C'.

Good birding!
