According to those that had been there earlier in the week, conditions
improved considerably overnight: more algae = more shorebirds. My
daughter, Frances, and I were there this morning. Good shorebirding,
particularly around Owen Point, including Red Knot (3-4) (which of
course were not red), Pectoral, Sanderling, many Bairds, Least and SP
Sandpipers, SP Plovers, Lesser Yellowlegs, Spotted SP, Killdeer, Ruddy
Turnstone, and BB Plover.

The birds took flight several times due to raptors, including 1
Sharp-Shinned, a pair of Bald Eagles (seen by others) and a possible
Peregrine.

Passerines were few (although we had only limited time to look for
them).

Directions:

Presqu'ile Prov'l. Park is well marked from Brighton, about 1.5 hr. east
of Toronto on Hgy. 401.
