Birds that are being seen/heard for the past few days in/over the south marshlands of Cranberry in southwest Whitby include: Virginia Rail, Sora, several Moorhens, Coots, Wood Ducks, Pied-billed Grebe, Mute Swan, N.Harrier, Turkey Vulture, Yellow Warblers, Cedar Waxwings, R-t Hummingbird, Cooper's Hawk, Solitary Sandpiper, Spotted Sandpiper, both Yellowlegs and, undoubtedly others.
Sobey's pond has "slowed down"-- Aug.13-- 3 Greater Yellowlegs, several Lesser Y'legs, Spotted Sandpiper, Semipal. Plovers, 15 Killdeers, 2 Semipal. Sandpipers and the "resident" young squealing Caspian Tern being regularly fed by 1 or both parents. I have not seen the Hall's Rd. family of Kestrels for aseveral days.
