Hi Ontbirders,

Maureen Riggs and I conducted the weekly IBA shorebird survey today
finding 147 birds of 8 species. It seems that most birds present now
are different from the 300-400 birds here earlier in the week. The
majority were feeding on the algae flats off Beach 3 and 4, and for the
first time this fall several dozen birds were visible feeding on the
gravel spit on Gull Island which faces Owen Pt.

Results:

Killdeer - 6 (2a,4u)
Semi Plover - 12 (12a)
Spotted S/p - 9 (5a,4j)
Lesser Yellowlegs - 11 (9a,1j,1u)
Stilt S/p - 2 (2a)
Sanderling - 27 (27a)
Semi S/p - 70 (58a,2j,10u)
Least S/p - 10 (7a,3j)
