This morning I saw both Golden and Blue-Winged Warblers at a Bluebird Trail just east of Claremont. Also present were Bluebirds, BB Cuckoo, Peewees, Wood Thrush, Towhee, House Wren, Kingbird, Ovenbird, etc.
Thanks to Susan Morgan and Brian Steele for information about this location. DIRECTIONS TO BLUEBIRD TRAIL: (From Toronto) 401 East to Brock Road of Pickering. North to Claremont. East on Durham Rd. 5 (which is also called Myrtle Road if you start further east from Myrtle). At Westney Rd., about 3 minute drive from Brock Road (look for Spring Creek golf course near SE corner), turn north. You'll soon come to an old stone bridge. Go north 2.3 km. north of bridge to Bluebird Trail on west side of road. The GWW and BWW were both heard and seen at the beginning of the trail, not far from the road. There is also a beautiful trail for walking on the east side of Westney about 1 km south of this spot. Lots of Black-Throated Green's singing, 1 Wood Thrush, Red Eyed Vireo, etc. and NO mosquitos.
