It is nice that so many people got to see the upland
sandpipers near the intersection of 3rd St. and 5th
Ave. in west St. Catharines after my original posting.

It was not so nice that I found it necessary to
apologise to the people who live across from the field
for the actions of some of my fellow birders. Please
keep in mind that this is a rural area, with little
accommodation for roadside parking. Please also keep
in mind that people live and work along these roads
and do not appreciate roads being blocked and people
tramping through private property. If you have to park
a distance away, then so be it. I am sure that the
Ontbirds coordinator will echo these sentiments.

Also, I was informed that the sandpipers have been
breeding in this area for at least 4 years.
