Hi Birders,
Today I managed to get up to Pinery Provincial Park. I found the bird
activity rather quiet for this time of year. I did locate a couple of
decent birds for the park.

ACADIAN FLYCATCHER on Bittersweet Trail about the half way point
PINE WARBLERS on Wilderness Trail--usual nesters
MAGNOLIA WARBLER at beach lot #8
YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER at beach lot #3--probable nester
CHESTNUT-SIDED WARBLER on Nippissing Trail at top of old dune--usual nesting
area
EASTERN BLUEBIRD on Nipissing Trail
CLAY-CLOLORED SPARROW near Nippissing Trail in clearing at south end of
trail. This looks like potential nesting area. A nice surprise for the
day. I first heard the typical buzz calls.
2 GREEN HERONS flyover beach lot #8
MUTE SWAN on old river down from store (not nesting I hope)
PURPLE FINCH--males singing on Cedar Trail and Nipissing Trail
TUFTED TTIMOUSE--all over park--one of the better places to find this
species.

Pinery Park is along hwy 21 south of Grand Bend on Lake Huron.
