For at least the past three nights (Tues., Wed., Thurs.) a group of approx. 250 (Ring-billed) Gulls have bee seen at night over a mall parking lot. These birds are flying at about 200 feet, in a tight formation, reminicient of a flock of shorebirds, albeit without the intuitiveness. Generally silent, there are short periods of heavy vocalizing. These gulls have been observed at several different times, ranging from 8pm to 1am, always doing the same thing.

Could anyone shed some light on this bizzare behavior?

Anyone interested in seeing this;

Go after dark and watch for the white "cloud".
