Again, there appears to be no significant influx of birds into the park today. There were a fair number of birds at the Tip this morning, including five species of vireo and several species of warblers. Yellow-throated, Red-eyed, Philadelphia, Warbling and Blue-headed Vireos were all seen in the Tip woods south of the transit stop.
Highlights reported this morning include: WHITE PELICAN (2) - These birds were first spotted circling over the Tip, and we later seen over the Visitor Centre. The birds were last seen headed west and appeared to be descending and could be on the lake to the west of the park. Yellow-breasted Chat - Chats have been seen regularly in several parts of the park, but for the last few days there has been one actively feeding around the Visitor Centre. The bird has been seen both to the north and south of the building. Summer Tanager (female)- This bird was spotted along the east side of the Tip this morning. Mourning Warbler - Sighted along the road, between the halfway stop and the Tip. Yesterday's update (May 22): Prothonotary Warbler (female) - this bird was again reported from the NE corner of the Woodland Nature Trail, though no reports have been received for today.
