Today: This morning brought some new birds to Fish Point- ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER, NORTHERN PARULA, NORTEHRN WATERTHRUSH, both CUKOOS, YELLOW THROATED VIREO, as well as all the regulars. First NORTEHRN SHOVELER sighting for May. Almost forgot the YELLOW BREASTED CHAT. At Lighthouse Point YELLOW-BELLIED FLYCATCHER, BLACK POLL WARBLER and GREY-CHEEKED THRUSH were very co-operative. BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT HERON at East Shore Rd. close to Ligthhouse Point. ----------------------------------------- Cumulative May total for Pelee Island: 183 species ----------------------------------------- There will be daily bird hikes on Pelee Island until at least May 20. Cost $4.00 includes admission to Heritage Centre. Inquire at Centre at foot of West Dock for times and locations, and details on best birding areas and current rarities.
