Today I went to Matchedash Bay and met up with the Brereton Naturalist Club (Barrie group), who had found a Snow Goose in the Bay. Also there was also a Trumpeter Swan (number not seen) and a large assortment of ducks. On the way were 3 Brewer's Blackbirds at 1890 Upper Big Chute.
Directions: >From the town of Coldwater, follow the main street (River Rd) until it becomes Upper Big Chute. After the road veers left look for 1890. There is a red barn nearby. Continue on the same road until you reach Kinnear Rd. Turn left and follow it to the bay. There is a parking lot there and trails where Osprey and Blue Gray Gnatcatcher and a Heronry with a viewing platform exists. Warbler viewing will be excellent in a week or so. Continue from the parking lot towards the end of Kinnear and follow the road which turns right and continue to the end. The Snow Goose and Trumpeter Swan were visible from here.
