Worm-eating Warbler near Glencoe, Middlesex County

Yesterday, April 22, while conducting faunal surveys on private property we found a Worm-eating Warbler foraging with 2 Blue-gray Gnatcatchers, 2 Ruby-crowned Kinglets and 1 Golden-crowned Kinglet. The warbler was foraging from ground level to about 2 m off the ground in shrubs and saplings along a small woodland creek. It was investigating clumps of leaves and grasses that had caught on the shrub branches during the spring floods. This is one of only a handful of records ever for Worm-eating Warbler in Middlesex County.

Glencoe is in southwest Middlesex County.
