Dear Ontbirders, At 10pm Thursday April 17th, I heard a NORTHERN SAW-WHET OWL calling on Rochester Lake Rd. about 4kms south-west of Kearney (30kms NE of Huntsville). In windy conditions, I listened to the stationary owl tooting continuously for 10-15 minutes. The owl did not approach in response to playing a taped call, but altered its rythmn and volume temporarily. The owl was heard on the north side of the road 100m south of #538 at approximately 637500E, 5042800N.
