This afternoon at 4:00pm I located a Northern Saw-whet Owl in the Clyde
Avenue Woods. The bird was roosting 15 feet up in a cedar tree. The owl
was in the southwest corner close to the foot path and owl sign was
present. A Coopers Hawk was also in the woods.

Directions: Clyde Avenue Woods does not appear as a name on maps but it
is the name given by Ottawa birders to the woods that border the
Carlington Resevoir/Quarry on the south side. From the 417 east or
west, exit Maitland Avenue south and proceed to the second set of
lights. Turn left and left again on Castlehill. Take Castlehill to the
end and park adjacent to the woods. Check cedars for migrant owls.
