Hello all;

A Pine Warbler has been singing and coming to the feeder at the Rondeau
Visitor Centre for the better part of this week. The Sandhill Cranes that
Blake reported on the weekend continue to call from the marsh, amongst the
constant calling of many hundreds of Tundra Swans that are still on the bay.

Eastern Phoebe's made their appearance early in the week and an American
Woodcock was heard on Monday morning.

Rondeau Bay remains partially frozen, however, there are many openings in
the ice that are filled with waterfowl during some parts of the day.
Redhead, Scaup and Canvasback make up the large numbers, but a few other
species are mixed in (Ring-necked, Common Goldeneye, Bufflehead, Common
Mergansers, Coots etc). I think Swan numbers are actually on their way back
down, with fewer seen in the fields and on the bay.

Rondeau Provincial Park is 18km south of the 401 from exit 101. Just follow
the signs.

Sandy
