Hi Fellow Birders, I enjoyed watching over 50 LONG TAILED DUCKS swimming, diving and chasing each other in the open waters just west of the Cobourg Harbor. The winter plumage of the males especially are awesome. 1 AMERICAN COOT, 36 SCAUP, 2 COMMON MERGANSERS were swimming in the open waters west of the harbor as well.
I saw 7 KILLDEER on the property of the Whitby Mental Health Center last Friday and 2 SNOW GEESE west of Halls Rd. south of Victoria/Bayly ST./Rd. And there were 5 AMERICAN TREE SPARROWS north of Thickson Woods last Friday. Directions: Follow directions to Cobourg Harbor, take Highway # 12 exit off # 401 and turn west on Victoria St. till Halls Rd. and turn south and take Thickson Rd. off # 401 and turn east on water front trail by Thickson Woods.
