A farmer has been spreading fresh manure on a field on Heritage Road 2 km north of the Mayfield Side Road that has attracted hundreds of Snow Buntings, Horned Larks and Lapland Longspurs. The beauty of this field is that it is directly adjacent to Heritage Road and the birds can readily be seen from as close as 25 feet.
This morning and again early this afternoon I estimated there to be 500 Snow Buntings, 200 Horned Larks and at least 6 Lapland Longspurs (and very probably double that number). The field is on the west side of Heritage Road approximately 2 kilometers north of the Mayfield Side Road. Heritage Road is the first road west of Mississauga Road and running parallel to it. Go north on Mississauga Road from the 401, past Hwy 7 to the Mayfield Side Road. Turn left or westerly on the Mayfield Side Road to Heritage Road (2 km+/-). Go northerly on Heritage Road about 1 1/2 to 2 km and the field is on the west side of the road. Good luck Terry Osborne "Terry Osborne" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
