Good Morning! I had the privilege of seeing 108 WILD TURKEYS feeding in a large farmer's field which has some fresh manure spread on it.
I sighted many HORNED LARKS feeding on the side of the roads throughout the country side as well as many AMERICAN CROWS out in the fields. I fed a couple of TRUMPETER SWANS, the female had tag # 137 but the male does not have a tag as yet. I am trying to befriend him so that we can tag him this week. I am shooting for Thursday noon this coming week. If you would like to watch us and the conditions are right please feel free to join us where Pringle Creek runs into the harbor south of Whitby. Saw 2 SNOW GEESE among the many GEESE in the open waters in the same area. One AMERICAN KESTREL on the utility wire on Gordon St. Water Front Trail along edge of property of Whitby Mental Health Center and approach the Bluffs cautiously so the water fowl will not be scared off: SCAUP 1,000, COMMON GOLDEN EYE 15, BUFFLEHEAD 50, LONG TAILED 2, REDHEADS 24, SWANS MUTE 20, NORTHERN HARRIER flying over. Directions: Take any road running north & south till Taunton Rd. and turn off on Clarke Darlington Town Line 1 km. north for the WILD TURKEYS. Take Highway # 12 south of Whitby from # 401 till you come to a bridge with open water for the SWANS & SNOW GEESE. Take Victoria west from # 12 till Gordon St. and turn south for the AMERICAN KESTREL. And for the water fowl walk along Water Front Trail just off Whitby Mental Health Center along the edge of the Bluffs. "Markus J. Lise" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
