In addition to the waterfowl just posted by Keith Dieroff, we add a few
ducks:

1) The Desjardins Canal in Dundas:

Trumpeter Swan- 2 [inc. yellow tag #422, previously reported as #442, in
error]
LONG-TAILED DUCK
RED-NECKED GREBE, [east of Olympic Drive]

The canal runs adjacent to Cootes Drive, just east of Dundas, just west of
McMaster University. It is narrow so one can great excellent views of these
waterfowl.

2) Lake Ontario at Hutch's restaurant [off Eastport Dr.]: Frozen, only
Gulls.

3) Spencer Smith Park, Burlington, looking South to Lake Ontario
[Located 100 metres east of Joseph Brant Hospital.]:

SURF SCOTER, as well as BLACK and WHITE-WINGED [scope required]

4) RedHill Creek Basin [from the bridge on South Gateway off Eastport]:

RUDDY DUCKS
RING-NECKED DUCKS
NORTHERN SHOVELLERS
GREEN-WINGED TEAL- 1 male
AMERICAN COOT -1
DOUBLE CRESTED CORMORANTS

Eastport Drive is the road that runs under the Burlington Skyway (QEW).
Please remember that the bridge is not working, so RedHill Creek Basin is
accessible only from the south unless one takes the skyway.
