Thanks to Barb Glass who alerted me to the lack of directions and apologies to all for not given full directions to the sighting site.
Directions for Tamworth HAWK OWL: >From 401 Hwy exit 593 north onto Hwy 4 and continue north to Tamworth where Hwy 4 jogs 90° west. Note that the road going east is Mountain Rd.. The OWL was first seen 13.6 km. to the east of the above jog. We have just returned from seeing the HAWK OWL. It had apparently moved 1.0 km. east. Our odometer clocked 14.6 km. from the OWL to the 90° jog. The OWL was on the north side of Mountain Rd. at the tip of a long bare spike of a tree only 2 m. from the ditch when we left it at 3:30 p.m.. If you have a MapArt Ontario Road atlas you will see Tamworth on page 47, quadr't A52 and the 401 exit 593 on page 35, Quadr't D54 NW corner.
