Birded Whitby area today : Chipping Sparrow, Swamp Sparrows, Song Sparrows, Red-winged Blackbirds, Cowbirds, N. Flicker at feeder at head of trail ( + platform at end) on Halls Road near Lyndeshores, on Victoria west of Brock.
In Whitby Harbour ( on Brock s. of Victoria ) were 2 Tundra Swans, 4 Hooded Mergansers, 2 N. Pintail, an adult Thayer's Gull and an immature Bald Eagle.
On Halls Rd. north of #2 were 35 Horned Larks on the field covered with manure .
At Livingston/ Kingston Rd. in Scarborough the reliable adult Red-shouldered Hawk provided excellent views. Take the Markham Rd. exit south off #401 to reach this site.
