Good Morning Fellow Birders,

This seems to be the time for the Scaups in the lake south of the bluffs on
the Lakeshore Rd., s.e. of Newcastle. Several REDHEADS were among them as
well as COMMON GOLDENEYES, BUFFLEHEADS & RED BREASTED MERGANSERS. There
were even some of the latter three species in the Port of Newcastle harbor
as well as MALLARDS & TRUMPETER SWAN # 541.

A NORTHERN SHRIKE was flying up and down from the utility wires into the
ditch and back. The RED TAILED HAWK, BARRED OWL, COOPERS & SHARP CHINNED
HAWKS make their regular appearance around our property.

At the feeders I sighted 6 NORTHERN CARDINALS, 1 WHITE THROATED SPARROW, 12
SLATE COLORED & DARK EYED JUNCOS, 6 BLUE JAYS, BLACK CAPPED CHICKADEES,
MOURNING DOVES & DOWNY, HAIRY, RED BELLIED WOODPECKERS & EUROPEAN STARLINGS
on the suet.

Sighted 500 AMERICAN CROWS on Braggs Rd. & Townline north of Highway # 2 and
west of Newcastle.

Directions: Take Highway # 401 to the Mill St. S. exit by Newcastle and
drive to the lake and follow the Lakeshore Rd. along the lake.
