Hi Birders, There was a first winter Northern Shrike at Paletta Park/Shoreacres this morning. The bird was actively attacking house finches in the northeast corner of the woodchip path.
Also, I observed a Drake Harlequin Duck off the Burlington Ship Canal, northeast jetty, Burlington side in a raft of White-winged Scoters. DIRECTIONS: Paletta Park is located off of Lakeshore Road between Appleby Line and Walker's Line in Burlington on the south side. The ship canal can be accessed by continuing west on Lakeshore Road. Turn left on the Beach Strip Road (lights just before Joseph Brant Hospital and across from Maple Avenue). Park at the end before the road turns sharply right and walk out to the canal. **Note the lift bridge is under repair and cannot be accessed. Cheers, Dave Don Tom Hugill <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
