Hi birders, Although there were gale force winds today, there were many birds to see at Point Pelee. Of note was an adult Turkey Vulture roosting among cedars just south of the Sparrow Field at Pelee Park. Possibly the same bird that DJW reported near Wheatley the other day. Also was a large flock of wintering robins along the road near Black Willow Area numbering at least 75. They were spread out all over, so it was hard to get a count. White-throated Sparrows were throughout the park, as well as lots of Yellow-rumped Warblers. At least a dozen warblers among the cedars on the middle trail of Woodland Trail south of the visitor centre. I also noted a Hermit Thrush on the Woodland Trail. Lots of Cedar Waxwings were in the park looking for berries. Several Golden-Crowned Kinglets were among the cedars also. Along the beach east of Sparrow Field was a large flock of House Finches (~65) getting warmth in the sun. If you go to Point Pelee be sure to check the sightings book for other birds not noted above. On the way home I noted an adult Bald Eagle soaring above the water tower in Wheatley. ________________________________ Blake A. Mann Wallaceburg, Chatham-Kent, Ont. email: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
