Posting on behalf of Mike Street... A message was relayed to me from Mike Street to say he had found a female BLUE-WINGED TEAL at the Desjardins Canal in Dundas this morning. The bird was about 50 feet in on the marsh side (this report may be of interest to winter listers).
Directions are as follows: from the 403 take the Main Street West exit, turn left and proceed to Cootes Drive, veer off to the right and round the bend (past the marsh) to the first light. Turn right again at the lights - the marsh is on your right hand side about 50m in.
