Thank you for your quick attention to this matter. I can look into the palamino error if it persists post Bioconductor release (later this week or early next). The error did not prevent the package from being included in this April 16 release.
I am also looking into making the BiocFileCache errors more verbose to aid in debugging instances like this and hope to have it implemented during the next release cycle.
