Annotation packages are treated slightly different. We assume that annotation package version bumps indicate a change so they are the only set of packages that are not automatically bumped. However you are correct we probably should have in place to bump the newly submitted packages at release time and will discuss this as a new protocol.
I can assist you off the mail list to push changes to the package. According to this documentation (Chapter 22 Version Numbering | Bioconductor Packages: Development, Maintenance, and Peer Review <https://secure-web.cisco.com/1nuHej_-EBTdRXaHP8oF6SRf9aSxiprfRprmViZXpxP0bYLUoiGxUMCYvvoDQ4_FPtcv28mKFAv4Z1JETsGTydogV-1tpGCUxyqllUiL9OMelGhT2LjEEr6MTUwsmbqTf4SMXAqHv0GC92X-e52Ei9loLJTnzG_v4brLSOE3keOzY6lEZ4TgXJ_XwQzOVk6C9m5_b-q_ZuCtjeyk0TAeSE51oNHfbDGkYXKneiuilijX6a75t-y1Zd8HTxya0VZDMKv1yXAFgKBhuslQBsykeoIAawfKe8pvPamN4T0MLMmj2w3qRKXklFynp1v5cFoKE/https%3A%2F%2Fcontributions.bioconductor.org%2Fversionnum.html%23versionnum>), it should have been bumped to (1.0.0) in its first release, right? I want to push some fixes to the package's vignette in the release branch, but the remote rejects it: *remote: Error: Illegal version bump from '0.99.6' to '0.99.7'.* Thanks in advance for the help.
