Hi, Yes, you may retain your ability to push upstream (git.bioconductor.org) as well. The only requirement is only ONE maintainer is listed on the Package DESCRIPTION file, usually the one who takes full responsibility for the maintenance.
There is no concept of co-maintainers, only co-authors. But multiple authors can have push access if requested. Perhaps I was operating under old terminology, but when I asked for a co-maintainer, my intention was that both Kai Wang and myself would be both be able to push upstream, and in effect be maintainers.
