The convention is to 'reply all' so that others who experience (past, present, 
or future) the same general issue can gain insight. For instance from here one 
learns / is reminded that Bioconductor package developers changing their email 
address need to update it in the app, too. It also signals to others on the 
bioc-devel mailing list that the issue is being handled; this can help them 
avoid effort in trying to respond [perhaps not to this particular issue, but in 
general...] and also gain confidence that their own issues will be handled.

Hopefully this level of extra information does not overwhelm your email account!
