Try a zone transfer manually with
dig axfr example.org -6 @dns-server
Does that work?
Yes, pages of data that match the zone data.
How do the AAAA records of the server look?
There are A and AAAA records. The primary and secondary name servers
work from either type. I have one slave which is IPv6 only which is
when I noticed the problem.
Is the slave in the different zone?
Some are some are not. I have failed to get transfer over IPv6 to any.
If so, check the glue records of it too.
There are glue records for two of the domains, most of the domains do
not need them.
Generally, which version are you running?
# named -v
