I am going to vent, I have bitten my tongue for far too long. I've just updated 9.18 again, as recent update, and ever since using this 9.18 mess the load has been horrendous never ever have I experiemnce such a clusterfcsk of a release
14 minutes after restart bind load is greater than 8 and still climbing, CPU neigh on 400% but next to none memory usage, this is typical of all 9.18, and is far beyond any joke. 21:42:36 up 117 days, 7:35, 1 user, load average: 8.15, 6.48, 3.32 PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND 1043 named 20 0 180368 21756 7664 S 398.0 0.3 31:52.91 named google sees you admit this problem is known, but yet allowed this minor (18) to go production available with this stupidity problem, and we do not have that many domains hosted, about 1300, we never had this with 9.16, 9.14, 9.12, 9...... yet ISC seems intent on driving system administrators away to alternative with stupidity like this, do you think we are going to tolerate such mess forever, sadly mistaken, I know of other local admin who moved to unbound because of this, I hope we are not next, but I suspect we will be. vent over.
