Hi there, I found these two inconsistent statements in the net about how bind9's query_source_(-v6) address statements work:
From: https://docstore.mik.ua/orelly/networking_2ndEd/dns/ch10_15.htm "Note that query-source applies only to UDP-based queries; TCP-based queries always choose the source address according to the routing table and use a random source port." From: https://www.dns-school.org/Documentation/bind-arm/Bv9ARM.ch06.html "The address specified in the query-source option is used for both UDP and TCP queries, but the port applies only to UDP queries. TCP queries always use a random unprivileged port." Which one is true? I only neet the source address to be set (both udp and tcp, for source based routing of dns queries), not the port. Thanks for clarification, Robert -- Robert Senger _______________________________________________ Please visit https://lists.isc.org/mailman/listinfo/bind-users to unsubscribe from this list bind-users mailing list bind-users@lists.isc.org https://lists.isc.org/mailman/listinfo/bind-users
