It's fairly normal for virtualization stuff to forbid network access from a VM to the host, via some combination of network interface configuration and NAT/firewall rules. If you're using VirtualBox, look into "bridged adaptor", ie: https://www.virtualbox.org/manual/ch06.html#network_bridged Regards, -- -Chuck
