Thanks, your article really cleared my confusion with the naming and
delegation of zones. I did read initially  RFC
2317<https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc2317> when
I started working on this task, but I was lost with the use of the /
character, and, I realize now, I wasn't using the CNAME records correctly.

This time I took your advice and used the first and last octets of the
range to create the CNAMEs as well as the name for the reverse zones. It
worked from the first attempt.
