Ok, I used dig to simplify things. I agree the problem in this case is the a/aaaa query. The whole thing started out with FireFox not finding the server as d6.....
I now conclude this has to continue with the Mozilla guys. I have checked that the server can and will hand out the aaaa answer. Thanks to all, there was one stupid mistake, also something else that I now know where to ask about. Thanks.
