With your method, it would have to do two queries whenever a record's TTL has expired: first check the SOA to see if it has changed, then query the record. The standard algorithm just queries for the record you want.
okay, just readed this today, still have problems with some zones that need to be defined in named.conf for hostnames not lokal :/
a example is that rfc-ignorant.org does not being found if i remove it in named.conf as forward, is there a way i can debug this in verbose ?
when i had a ip in 80.x.x.x there was nearly none problems with dns, but after i get one new ip in 2.x.x.x then there is half of public dns failing :/
