People who read the code can certainly read the man page:
-c class
Specify the class of the zone. If not specified, "IN" is assumed.
% named-checkzone -c CLASS42 example example.zone
zone example/CLASS42: loaded serial 13
OK
% cat example.zone

@ CLASS42 SOA localhost. root.localhost. (
13 ; Serial
604800 ; Refresh
