I would just treat this as a generic "out of memory" issue that just
happens to be triggered by named's attempt to mark servers as lame.
If you don't have any "datasize" specified in your options, check to see
if the OS is limiting your datasize before named is even starting up
(e.g. via a "limit" or "ulimit" command).
Also, I'm not familiar enough with named's internals to know if
lame-server records are stored in the "cache" or not, but if they are,
then you might want to check if you're limiting cache size via
max-cache-size.
