I have emailed Mike Verveer, but I haven't directly spoken to or emailed city
staff. Since city staff seemed pretty engaged in the John Nolen bike path
closing where this discussion originated, it seems it would've been hard for
them to miss this branch of that tree. I'd gladly contact someone there
directly. Robbie or whomever might know, who should I contact? I don't know my
way around there. Thanks.

Subject: Re: [Bikies] West Washington

Has anyone actually emailed or called Traffic Engineering? (Note that
Traffic Engineering -- the folks that paint the stripes, time the lights,
decide lane configurations, etc. -- is different than City Engineering, who
designs and builds stuff and where Tony Fernandez works. They obviously
talk to each other, but are not the same department and may or may not
agree about how things should work.)

Instead of relying on city staff to monitor this listserv, which they do,
but probably only periodically, a direct communication might work better.

If an email has been sent, to whom, and what did it say?

Just wondering.

I discussed this with a member of the TE department many years ago. The
person I spoke to is no longer there, and I don't want to misrepresent what
may or may not have been an official position or a position that may have
changed since our conversation, so I would prefer that we get a fresh and
official response.
