On behalf of the organizers, I am pleased to announce the conference "The Value of Unique Scholarly Identifiers to Academics, Institutions and Countries". The conference is organized by the Association of Lithuanian Serials (see http://serials.lt). It will take place in Parliament of Lithuania (see http://lrs.lt), in Vilnius, Lithuania on February 14th, 2012.
We think that the topic of researcher identification is relevant not only to librarians and publishers but also to researchers of all subject areas. Therefore, the main goal of the conference is to explain to the wide academic community how the latest technologies have been changing their profile in the scholarly universe and what they can expect in the future.
