Subject: getting some perspective
To: JISC-REPOSITORIES -- jiscmail.ac.uk

I'm trying to put together an overview page on the activities of the
repository community that cuts across platform allegiance. Also,
there's just so much stuff being talked about in the different
personal, project and news blogs and sites that it's difficult to keep
up to date. I'm not a great fan of raw feed readers and I've tried
various Web2 services (e.g. friendfeed and pageflakes) but they don't
quite help, so I've had a go at making something myself.

http://www.eprints.org/repositories/ brings together the recent
DSpace, EPrints and Fedora news releases, the latest
repository-relevant personal postings from individual and project
blogs, as well as recent postings on two of the key repository agendas
- Open Access and Data Curation.

If anyone's interested I'd really like some feedback as to what should
be included, and how it should best be displayed.

PS I have noticed the irony in having a 'cross platform view of the
world' hosted on one of the platform websites!

PPS If anyone's interested in these things, the page contains widgets
from WidgetBox and KickApps, and the RSS feeds are being processed by
Yahoo Pipes
