Here's a tiny code to get the prompt, hope it helps

        $rootexpect->send("\n");
        my $shpromvrfy = $rootexpect->expect(750,'#','>','$');
        my $match=$rootexpect->match();
        my @outp = split /\n/, $rootexpect->exp_before();
        $actualprompt= "$outp[$#outp]"."$match";
        print "got $actualprompt\n";
