Which problems could I get with with this package? My programm converts many small xml-files (<100kb) to a perl structure daily. Until now I got no errors or warnings, if the xml file is ok. XML::Simple is for me a very simple way to get easy access to the xml data. (but I never tried it with huge xml files.)
