I still can't see the problem. If it uses a lot of other CPAN
modules, that is
a Good Thing(tm), because it uses other pieces of usually tested and
maintened
pieces of software. Probably the Archive::Ar module covers everything
you
thought and didn't thought about dealing with ar files.
I agree with all that, the problem is that it fails ^_^ And all I have
to do is extract a single file, so I don't need all the possibilities
that Archive::Ar could give (supposed it worked on my system).
In any case, I can't stop now trying to get it working, so I'll go on
with the program and when it will be finished and working I'll give
Archive::Ar a new chance :)
