Hi, I need to recommend/use a better database than MySQL that should work well with perl. I have read some web pages about PostgreSQL and I have seen that it has a procedural language PLPERL, while Oracle doesn't have such a thing. I have also seen that Oracle is a little better than PostgreSQL.
The database I need to keep is not very very big, but too big for MySQL, and the most important thing is the speed of selections/updates. Is the fact that Oracle doesn't have an internal support for perl but just for Java an important thing? Are important the advantages of Oracle over PostgreSQL? Thank you.
