        Depending on your background, the better start ( opinion ) is Learning 
Perl and using what you learn to accomplish new tasks that come your way. The 
Programming Perl gives you detail, but I found that by applying the info the 
Learning Perl helped me and I ahve been at it for over 12 years now.
